Applications Design Technologist - Stim Sales
Stewart & Stevenson Canada Inc. was incorporated in Houston, Texas in 1902. Our diversified product offerings include equipment for well stimulation, well work over and service, drilling, coiled tubing, cementing, nitrogen pumping, power generation and electrical systems, as well as engines, transmissions and materials handling equipment.
We are a leading aftermarket parts and service provider to all of the industries for which we provide products, and we provide rental equipment to a broad range of customers. Today we have 53 offices and facilities in the United States, Canada, and abroad.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Reporting directly to the Manager of Sales, the incumbent is responsible for designing and detailing sales drawings for stimulation equipment.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Evaluate customer requests for quotation.
- Oversee technical accuracy, completeness and timeliness of quotes.
- Ensure adequate evaluation of technical specifications.
- Oversee the performance, sizing and selection of equipment.
- Create models in Pro E to aid in portraying new design concepts to internal and external customers while trying to implement existing designs where possible.
- Model the approximate major parts locations to identify potential component interference.
- Calculate weights and balance on units to approximate weight and ensure that the unit would be legal in required areas of operation.
- Select and package major components to ensure the equipment would satisfy the customer’s needs and ensure the equipment as a whole would operate in its intended work environment.
- Collect technical information and pricing from vendors.
- Assist the sales support coordinator in identifying key components to ensure accurate costing.
- Provide technical support to sales participating in customer meetings.
- Ensure a smooth and efficient transition of information to Projects Department upon award.
- Liaison with all departments to develop internal relationships and encourage a “team” culture.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quoting tools in order to improve the process and increase accuracy of the quotation.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- 3 -5 years relevant experience in fabrication of process equipment required.
- Mechanical Design Technologist certificate or equivalent experience.
- Proficient with MS Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of oilfield stimulation equipment would be a definite asset.
